On tuesday I went to the Manchester City gallery to pick an image for the summer project. Had already decided before looking at any paintings that I wanted something colourful and busy. Came across this image (Eve Tempted by John Spencer Stanhope 1887) and I really liked how it includes all 3 primary colours. One idea I wanted to try was recreating the image simplified and then make the colours much stronger. I've always loved Fauvist work so I really want to incorperate that style into this project somehow...
