Have now created 3 versions for my main 8x8 illustration. I don't like the version with the brown paper so deffinatly won't be submitting that one... The other two versions I really like and can't decide which to submit....
The version above is the one I won't be submitting. I don't think the brown paper works because it's too similar to the skin colour. Also the gran being a printed image on paper dosen't reprisent a memory very well. This is why the polaroid image is much more effective.
This version (above) is the first version I created. The idea was for the gran to look like a paper chain person but this wasn't obvious enough when people looked at the image. The fact that it shows a person being shredded makes the image more dramatic. There is the process of the actual person becoming shredded pieces. I think this version works well but could possibly be a bit too shocking?
This is the 3rd version I created. I really like this version but am upset that I had to reduce the size of the figure to fit the photograph space. I think the photograph being shredded reprisents the loss of memories better than in the first version.
Will be presenting both versions tomorrow to see which people prefer.
